I am going to the doctor tomorrow for a follow up apt. after being off cymbalta for a month and starting effexor. What should I take to my doctor to show her the withdrawals that cymbalta causes since they seem to have no clue about this drug??? Is there anything on here that I can print up and take to her???

Anything you would present from here would be subjective. He would probably think "Oh, that person probably already has anxiety/depression."

Effexor is another SNRI, and I hope that goes better for you than Cymbalta. Just be straight with your physician; tell him or her the truth about how you feel. Best wishes!

Well doctor appointment was interesting to say the least! B/P was HIGH and I am sure it was caused by the Effexor being that both Effexor and Cymbalta cause high b/p. We upped one of my b/p medicines and she now has me taking 20mg of Celexa. I am so tired of being a guinea pig for all these medications!!! I asked my doctor if she knew the side effects from withdrawaling from cymbalta and she said no and that after a month I shouldn't be having any side effect from it!!! I told her to google cymbalta side effects and she could read all the horror stories!!!!

It's not surprising that the physician knows little about the withdrawal issues. Have you been talking with a psychologist as well? I did, and found it to be very beneficial. The psychologist will know a lot more about the withdrawal problems, and how these effects interact with your emotions, simply because they hear the stories often. That's what they do.
