Another up date for you guys. Down 168 beads, feeling a little sick and achy. Tired as always because of the ME. But I'm exercising twice a week and really believe it's helping I'm very hot and sweating more than normal and a little panicky at night. I'm not loosing the will though, I'm plodding through. I'm determined these disgusting villains will be out of my body by the summer. Then I can get on 5HTP and re start my life.
One side effect I'm not liking and if I'm honest didn't expect, is weight gain. I put quite a lot of weight when taking the tablets and was excited to see it start to come off with the withdrawal. Sadly this is not the case. Not sure if I'm eating more to control the sickness or if my metabolism has slowed down. It's not making spence to me.
Another thing, which is not affecting me as much as the weight gain, is sharps pains behind one of my eyes. Anyone experiencing this? It's really quite painful and comes with a sudden shock then goes away! Buzzare! The whole thing is bizzare! I would like to give mr cymbalta a piece of my mind, along with the stone if weight I've gained! ;)
Over and out for now.
Gid bless you all. Happy withdrawals people.
Ps. Sorry for any mistakes, I am typing this on my phone which has a cracked screen. I can't check what I've written. I'm blaming that on cymbalta too!
Xx

Hi! New to your support and have spent 2 hrs. reading and, at times, trying not to cry out loud! Yup, I do believe the pharm giants have us right where they want us (i.e. dependent).

A little background: I am well over 45...have chronic pain and depression. My career is, ironically enough, in healthcare! LOL tho I am not a prescriber. my passion use to be living, helping others and esp. the animals. I have been on "crabalta" since it came to market in the US approx. 7 years. For 4 years I took 120 mg. There was an incremental increase, btw.  I personally reduced the dose to 60 mg. in Dec. 2013.

8 days ago I abruptly stopped taking it.

That bring me to you guys. :D I try to keep up the humor so forgive me if I seem flippant. There is nothing flippant about trying to get thru the day, as I see so many of us are working on this "little" thing.

My fighting weight was 105. I had gained 25 lbs. , mostly related to sweet foods/ drinks, by Dec. Reason for quitting was tired of having problems r/t memory, not feeling, hopelessness. I will not, under any circumstance that I can think of, go back on any form of SSRI or any antidepressants. Is that harsh? Never have personally known them to work. Regarding the weight gain...for the record I have lost 5 lbs. since last week while eating a bit more. I am a veggie--had to put that out there.

That's my story. I read about Omega fish oils being helpful- Anyone with feedback here would be appreciated!  I am going back to this amazing forum in search of more insight from the people. YOU. Thank you to all!

Welcome xman1. I always hate to hear of someone going cold turkey. It can be so brutal. But I have to admit there are some who go through it with little problems. I am hoping things go smooth and easy for you. Keep us posted.
