My GP knows far less about Cymbalta and its withdrawal than I do, and has left most of the changeover to me. I had reduced to 15mg daily but want to try to go 'cold turkey' from here while I'm away. If I have problems I'll go back and reduce even more slowly.
I am on clomipramine and amitriptyline - plus diazepam if needed (although mainly as a muscle relaxant.
How many days does it usually take to get the adverse effects?
Stopping today?

Don't hate me for the answer I am going to give you; it is honest. You ask, "How many days does it usually take to get the adverse effects?" I have read some people feel effects within an hour or two of missing a dose. Others may take a day or two. Remember, some people don't have much of an issue at all stopping. I really suggest you wean to an even lower dose before you go cold turkey. Also, as you have weaned to a lower dose, how has your body and brain reacted? That may be a key to how your body and brain will react.
Let us know how you are doing.

Of course I won't hate you for suggesting that I withdraw more slowly. I felt that it was right to do it while I was staying here, with the understanding that if I had major problems I would go back on and taper very slowly.
It is hard to know what was what with my initial reduction, as I think I had a viral infection as well.
Anyway, I've missed two doses now and feel quite good. I think already being on amitriptyline and now adding clomipramine is helping.

Awesome. I hope the good feelings continue and you breeze past this Cymbalta withdrawal. Please keep posting. Even if you feel well. We (those of us on this forum that stuggled with Cymbalta withdrawal) are always concerned that we 'scare' new forum members with our stories of feeling badly, and it is not always the case that someone feels bad. It is good to have someone post who is feeling fine. You will provide a great service...and we'll all be jealous, BUT in a very good way.
Best wishes....Houdi
