Hello All and a happy 4th.

 

PS I hate long fourth of July weekends. They provide 4 straight nights of fireworks until 2 or 3 in the morning.   Ugggh

I'm with you there, FH!  One of my dogs simply shakes when he hears those fireworks and they set them off at the lake behind my house - we may as well be there!

 

I close all blinds and drapes and turn the volume up on the TV

Several years back when I was at my worst I was very sensitive to noise. The slightest sound would cause anger. I invested in a Bose noise cancelling ear phones. They are expensive ($300?) but I love it. No fireworks sound, airplane noise, neighbor kids screaming, etc. I even wear them in noisy places when I shop.

Hi, I'm back after a 14 days stop at the hospital. Just got back. Still really shook and tired. I will be back to explain this surgery that left me with a 10 inch zipper on my spine. 33 agrahes. What an experience! Later!

Back Staples

I'm in no position to over do it, just walking to the kitchen is mind boggling.

Staples should be the right word. Fusion, I think it's called. Five vertebrae glued together with nails!!!and cement!!!and placks. Of well, Einstein will explain better. One vertebrae was full of holes(cancer). I will have special radiotherapy in Montreal this month. Only two big sessions. It will help with the pain and hopefully kill what's left of this monster.

A new life, retreated, sleeping,praying, eating. Waiting for the healing.

The drugs they gave me at the beginning almost got me crazy. I imagined all kind of things, never had psychoose, but it looked like that. I'm ok now.

Glad to be back and see you all. thank you for your prayers and thoughts.

Fusion - The bolting of a metal plate to hold two or more vertebrae together. In Gail's case it would be a relatively long plate using 4 titanium screws to hold the plate to each vertebrae.

 

The use of radiotherapy after the spinal surgery has greatly improved the survival rate of this type of cancer. On e day at a time Gail. Prayers and hugs from the mrs and I. She has been so worried about you. Take it slow and steady.

Ah! Fishingbrain, those times are long over. Can't even sip a brandy. Everything has changed, my bed remains my solace. Pyjamas are my only clothes for the moment. To tell the truth, I wonder if I will be near normal one day.

Having a kidney removed was nothing compared to this. Nada. Speaking of Depends, the pain was so bad that I used them for a week, I didn't have time to get myself to the bathroom. It's ok now.

My skin is so dry, my hear is like bristle. I look like a porcupine. not my best for sure. Skin is black and blue at places. Well, off to bed for now.
