lease agreement

Yes apartment in the UK is a flat - although a lot of people say apartment.

So many people use Americanisms now, and whilst I have no problem whatsoever with you guys, my skin crawls when I hear a British person say "gotten". :) :) :)

Does anyone in America use the word "got", or is it always "gotten"??

I was afraid you would ask that question. I can not quote that rule exactly but you are close. I will try to find out tomorrow.

by jove

Used in England during 18th and 19th century to express surprise, for example "By jove, look at that lovely apple pie Gail has baked!!"

Hat - will be interested to know what you dig up on that. From an English (English - not US) grammar perspective, this is how it would work.

Wang Mang

Wang Mang was a Han Dynasty official and consort kin who seized the throne from the Liu family and founded the Xin (or Hsin) Dynasty ruling 9–23 AD.

It is interesting to note that many antiquities from that era from both China and Korea are now in the Japanese possession. Even though they were taken by Japan during various wars in the region in the 1800's and early 1900's Japan still considers them their property. The World Court has ruled against Japan and ordered the items returned but Japan refuses. They say that the items have been in their possession so long they are now part of their heritage. To this day they are displayed in the Japanese Museums.

Yang Guifei

Yang Guifei (with Guifei being the highest rank for imperial consorts during her time), known briefly by the Taoist nun name Taizhen was known as one of the Four Beauties of ancient China. She was the beloved consort of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang during his later years.

You can tell I love stores of consorts. lol

Distress tolerance

"Distress tolerance is an emerging construct in psychology that has been conceptualized in several different ways. Broadly, however, it refers to an individuals' "perceived capacity to withstand negative emotional and/or other aversive states (e.g. physical discomfort), and the behavioral act of withstanding distressing internal states elicited by some type of stressor."[1] Some definitions of distress tolerance have also specified that the endurance of these negative events occur in contexts in which methods to escape the distressor exist." Wiki

A fancy way of saying some people handle stress better than others.

Zero pounds.

I gained zero pounds since I weighed myself 2 weeks ago, I actually lost 2. Why is it so hard or me to lose weight but I can gain it easily?
