Has anyone had success on this for panic/anxiety?

Ramona,

Sorry, I can't help you here as I never took this..

Alprazolam (Xanax) is the only one I have taken

Ramona

There was a double-blind study run in 2000 on Gabapentin and Panic Disorder. Here it is:

I was on Gabapentin for restless leg syndrome for several years and it did nothing for my anxiety. Gabapentin is no longer prescribed here by our drs due to its strong like to pancreatic and liver carcinomas. There are certainly other medicines oout there that can help you.without this kind of risk.

You might consider clonidine or hydroxyzine . I posted several articles under the section called "Medical Support' On various non-addictive, no withdrawal meds and supplements that have shown to be effective against anxiety. Research papers links are posted with each med. You might look that over.

Thanks, I appreciate this info.

I looked up Clonidine and Hydroxyzine but both say they have potential interactions with Cymbalta, and I'm still on 50 mg of Cymbalta, so that is a concern I have.

The interactions you are referring to is a lowering of blood pressure. I am not aware of ANY anxiety medicine that does not have the potential of lowering bp. The only way to control anxiety with medication is to slow down one or more neurotransmitter which will slow down the metabolism and lower the blood pressure. Just start up the new med slowly and watch you bp. Talk it over with your dr.
