Holy hell, Cymbalta is a nightmare. I'm 39 and went on the Big-C in March 2014 for nerve pain. I started at 30mg through my pain doc and then my psychiatrist decided to up me to 60mg for anxiety/depression about six months ago.
Three weeks ago I was driving and started having what I supposed people refer to as the brain zaps and then half of my face went numb and my entire arm started tingling. I thought I was having a stroke. I had my husband drive me to the hospital and the ER doc introduced us to the term dystonia.
I've since been in the ER again and been to my PCP. I am waiting on a neurology appointment but so far, everyone seems to think this is a dystonic reaction induced by the Cymbalta. It's painfully debilitating. My whole body cramps up into a ball for several minutes. The research I've found on dystonia links it to Parkinsons and it's freaking me out.
Has this happened to anyone else? Please tell me this goes away once Cymbalta is out of my system.
