    I want my life back!

There's a beautiful Japanese art form, called "Kintsukuroi" -- the art of mending broken pottery with gold ... the Japanese believe that something, once broken and mended, becomes more beautiful for having been broken .... this is part of a greater philosophy -- "Kinsugi" -- the art of embracing damage ...

Once broken, we can never go back to what we were before ... but we can ... and do ... go forward, to be mended with gold ... and we become more beautiful ... and more useful ... than before ...

We must embrace our damage in order to be mended and become whole again ...

Wow, FN this is a beautiful piece of art. When you think about it.......It was made from pottery and worth a heck of a lot more due to the gold.  This is how our life unfolds, we become richer and wiser as life goes on.  I love this.......thank you for sharing...

I love this!  I feel like a broken pot so much of the time.  It is nice to have a visual of the beauty that can come.

FN - This is really beautiful. I had to look it up on google because I couldn't get your jpg to come up. You know it makes sense that once we are broken that we will never to return to who or what we once were. But that we can move forward and become better and stronger. Maybe this will help in my journey to getting my life back. The one I saw that I liked was a heart, because it is my heart that has broken.

Oh, thank you for that photo of the mended heart !!!

A dear, dear friend of mine, now deceased, the Abbess of a Poor Clare Convent, once told me that hearts that have been broken are the best kind ... because, in the process of being mended, they become larger ... and can then hold even more love ...
