"Every time I say that I can't take Zoloft, my psychiatrist retaliates. It is possible this is not good for me?"

I am sorry Ozgun. I am sure you mentioned this before but why do you say you can't take Zoloft?

5 months on cymbalta, scary side effects, to get help and to return the favor if I can.

Hello Ozgun,

What are your symptoms? Could be from Cymbalta withdrawal or Zoloft? As you must know.

Have you had any bad experience with Zoloft in the past?

I remember know. (old age) Unluckily there is no positive test for ss. Given your history of ss with other antidepressants it is quite possible. Really the only way to be sure is to stop the Zoloft and see if the fever and other symptoms subside. The only problem is you may experience some Zoloft withdrawal that may be just as bad. Sorry, no easy answer here.

Thank you, FishingHat. I will try.

Gail, I am agitated, restless, and nauseous. Feels like my other SS where I had to drop Cymbalta.

Ozgun,

When you were at 37.5 mg, you seemed doing fine. Cant you drop back to that and see how goes?

Sorry for the first post, I hadn't seen SS.

I woke up exactly the same with really bad agitation and restlessness - just couldn't stop my hands from moving. Nausea as well and a dull background headache. But 20mg Citalopram and 5mg Lexapro it cant be SS surely. Had a touch of it on Sunday - maybe it could be lingering?

Hope tomorrow proves fruitful for you Oz

Probable.

I am full on suicidal, and I called my psychiatrist. I took 0,25 mg Xanax per his request. I feel like dying.

Did the Xanax help any Ozgun. Ozgun, I hate to say his but I am definitely loosing faith in your dr. So many things you have mentioned in the past and Xanax for suicidal thoughts. It is not really great for that is my understanding. And 0.25 mg is worthless. What do you think of him/her?

Nope, it did not. And the dosage was titrated to my previous complaints. He's knowledgeable but too set about things. I am losing faith in myself, man.

I just don't know what to say to you and IUN. Once the drs start jerking around the meds, changing, up and down doses, things just seem to get out of control so easily. I wish I had an answer.

There's always med detox for me and 5-HTP supplements?

Ozgun - you are not alone at the moment.

This medication game is not good. My situation has tipped me over the edge today and I just can't take any more.

We are clearly both very sensitive to meds and changes of them. We both need monitoring that we don't have. I am sure I am on the right path with the Lexapro now, but the route I got here has caused me to loose all will.

I would chop off an arm for monitoring. I am scared of what's (not) gonna happen.

Med detox here is a really bad experience. They take you off all meds cold turkey for 3 or 4 days and put you on a high dose benzo until half way numb and send you home.

5-htp can really help but the risk of ss is significant.

I can taper. And I know the risk. Just have to find a suitable supplement.

I am sick of all the side effects and withdrawal symptoms, but I don't think I have a choice here...

Three AD's going round in my system (one withdrawn), and the occasional benzo. It's not good.

We'd respond to CBT well, IUN. Add one of those AD's that aren't addictive, we're golden. There's the withdrawal side of things, though.

I've done soooo much CBT. I could probably teach it myself!

Ozgun, glycerin suppositories help me with gas.

Simethicone works as well. Here in the US it is sold over the counter.

I tried Simethicone, various PPI's for bloating, antispasmodic meds, pancreatin, magnesium effervescent. Nada. Nothing.

It is a long shot but you might try peppermint oil or peppermint lozenges. I have had good luck with them if taken a few minutes before I eat. Is this like gastritis where the gas starts to develop shortly after eating?

The gas never left. We've been together for 1,5 months. Almost no bowel movement.

How do I use peppermint oil?

Typically it is taken in capsule form.

You mentioned that there is little bowel movement. Constipation is a common symptom with AD withdrawal. Are you constipated? It can certainly cause gas as well. If you are constipated then it is no wonder the other items didn't work and the Simethicone won't either.

Well, I fit the constipation definition. Don't tell me I need laxatives. Do I need laxatives?

For one month plus of constipation, you need something more drastic.
Go to the drug store and explain, they will give you something. Don't wait!
