Sorry - should explain my idiom there...

Ass-about-face is often used by the English to explain when something is done in reverse to another means :D

Are we getting deep or what?

My wife's family always celebrates Oriental New Years (called Chinese New Years by most here).

I was in London once many many years ago and said an expression that I'd heard someone there say before and the person I was with was embarrassed and said not to say that out loud! I'll PM it to you IUN and see what you think about the expression if you'd like. LOL

Coming to you with bad news and good news!

Good news is, I wasn’t having a heart attack every time my arm and chest hurt.

Bad news is: I tore the tendons around my left shoulder (lefty here), that’s why my arm and chest hurt, and my fingers lost strength. Right side is slowly deteriorating.

I see development from both sides, but I can’t use my arms for anything. Dang.

Is there anything you can do to repair the situation?

Physical therapy, painkillers, don’t overwork arms, muscle relaxers etc. Heals in time, I heard.

Another good news is I have most of my anxiety under control, but I feel like 50 mg Zoloft is not enough. Should I give it a few more weeks (has been 4 weeks)? And Xanax lost its effect on me, ready to drop it.

Oz... glad that you found the cause of the chest pains... and that you can heal the damage that has occurred.

Regarding the Zoloft, I forget how long you have been on it over all? Dose increases will usually take effect between 2-4 weeks, but that is assuming that the meds have previously stabalised in your system, which would be a good 8-10 weeks. This is why, although I have been on Lexapro for 2 weeks, I reset the clock when I went up a dose.

I would also worry to put yourself through additional side effects that may occur from the dose increase while you are starting your trip. Speaking of which - we'll all be thinking of you tomorrow as you go, and wish you all the best and look forward to hearing of your progress there.

Thanks IUN :) I plan to sleep all the way through, as my dad is driving. Will update you guys.

If I’m not mistaken, I took 25 mg for 8 days, felt well to increase, 37,5 mg for 3 days, felt well to increase again and 50 mg for about 3 weeks, slowly adjusting to it. I would not increase without consulting my psychiatrist.

OK - so you are just shy of around 5 weeks. Not quite enough to reach its maximum yet then. I would give it at least another 3 weeks and see what your body is telling you. It can only improve, so in theory, you should not fear getting any worse. I'm sure your Psy would say the same.

Take care, dear Ozgun and wish you a peaceful journey.

Zoloft 4 to 6 weeks to fully kick in. I would give it 2 more weeks.

Nausea, anxiety, feeling tense, restlessness and tiredness still persists. I think Zoloft is not for me as the lowest dose of Xanax helps me keep the anxiety under control.

It is possible. Those are the typical symptoms for those with a low tolerance to Zoloft. How long you been on it and when was the last time you went up in dose?

To summarize, 8 days on 25, 3 days on 37,5 and almost 3 weeks on 50 mg.

Yep, plenty of time to adjust to the new dose. Sounds like a trip to the dr might be in order.

Already spoke to him. He insists :( I don't know if a active substance change or a group change is in order. I spoke with my cousin who had the same reaction to 20 mg paroxetine, reinstated at 10 mg with no problems afterwards. Maybe I should reduce my dose.

Possible. Nothing less assuring than trial and error. Medicine hasn't changed much since the dark ages except that there are more meds to try.

Exactly. And the big pharma thing does not help, either.

You know I must admit I can feel sorry for the drs as well. Look at how differently we all react to different meds. There is little pattern to what works and how. That must be very frustrating to them as well.

Ozgun, Fishinghat,

Is it possible that Ozgun is going through Cymbalta withdrawal at the same time? It's only been one month since you cold turkeyed Cymbalta.

Just my two cents worth. Si difficult to know what's doing what....

True, but anyone I spoke with had their meds changed. There's no tried and true but that doesn't mean the med he/she prescribed has to be "it" for me? I don't see the reason why mine (psychiatrist) persists.

Gail, I thought about that too, but I don't know what to try at this point.

You may ne right Gail but I would think that the Zoloft would have helped more than this ny now but as we always say....Everyone is different.

I went with 25 mg Zoloft today. No nausea, no restlessness. A splitting headache which reminds me of tension headaches, and tiredness persists. Might be withdrawal AND intolerance.

I went through “summary of cymbalta...” topic last night. I think I’m in chronic adrenergic state.

Will this ever end?

Please be careful shifting doses Oz. Might seem a good idea, but an imbalance caused quick succession of doses can be as dangerous as being on the wrong dose.

I have absolutely had it with pills. Currently awaiting a support call for the mess that this pregabalin may or may not have put me in...
